Vance Joseph Staying with the Broncos in 2026
With every NFL head‑coaching vacancy finally filled, the Denver Broncos now have clarity on one of their biggest offseason questions: Vance Joseph will remain the team’s defensive coordinator for the 2026 season. This development ends weeks of speculation surrounding Joseph, who interviewed with multiple teams and was one of the most sought‑after defensive coaching candidates on the market.
Joseph met with several organizations—including the Raiders, Cardinals, Giants, Ravens, and Titans—but as teams began making their final hires, his path forward grew clearer. Once Arizona and Las Vegas filled their openings, Joseph’s return to Denver became all but official. Reports indicate he had already been communicating internally that he planned to stay, simply awaiting the league’s hiring cycle to concluded.
For the Broncos, keeping Joseph is a major win. His 2025 defense was one of the league’s most dominant units, finishing top‑five across nearly every major statistical category. Continuity on that side of the ball is especially valuable as Denver looks to build on last season’s deep playoff run. With defensive assistant Jim Leonhard departing and other staff changes forthcoming, Joseph’s return provides stability at a pivotal moment per the franchise overall.
His presence is also meaningful to the players. Defensive lineman Zach Allen, who has spent his entire NFL career under Joseph across two teams, has openly praised Joseph’s impact on his development—both on and off the field. Allen credited Joseph for helping him carve out his role early in his career and supporting him through his growth into an All‑Pro performer.
Though Joseph did not secure a head‑coaching position this cycle, the Broncos’ ability to retain him for at least another season strengthens their chances of remaining one of the AFC’s toughest defenses in 2026. In a league full of constant turnover, Denver enters the next season with a valuable sense of stability—and a coordinator who continues to draw league‑wide respect.
The Broncos are looking for a replacement for Joe Lombardi as their OC. It looks like the solution might be in the building. While the position is not as desirable as positions that come with play-calling duties, it appears a favorite has emerged in the Broncos’ coaching search.
Davis Webb staying in Denver
According to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is the candidate to replace Lombardi.
Webb, who turned 31 in late January, joined the Broncos coaching staff in 2023 following a six-year playing career in the NFL. He was immediately appointed Denver’s quarterbacks coach, first working with Russell Wilson (unfortunate) and then proving instrumental in the development of first-round pick Bo Nix.
He is one of the “Hot/New” names in the coaching cycle. He was highly sought after during the NFL coaching carousel. The Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Las Vegas Raiders all interviewed him for their head-coaching vacancies. He at one point seemed to be a finalist in Las Vegas for their head coaching duties before the club settled on Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Taking over as the Broncos offensive coordinator is the logical next step in Webb’s coaching career. While many around the league view him as a future NFL head coach, his lack of coaching experience is a real issue. He is also unproven as a play-caller and, at such a young age, is unknown as a leader. While Webb cannot address the absence of play-calling experience in Denver, more time spent under Payton will help him learn the ropes of becoming a head coach. I think the Broncos are going to make a great move with Webb. He has experience with the roster, coaching staff, and team already. Per continuity’s sake, it is a homerun.

they got swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend and fell to 6 games under .500. That is better than where I thought they would be.
NEWS Nathaniel Hacket Hired Again - WTF!!#!!
Nathaniel Hackett, yes that Nathaniel Hackett - was hired yet again by another NFL Franchise. This time - the Dolphins are saying - “Hey, let’s give this guy a try.”
YET another team has decided to give the veteran Coordinator / Former Head Coach (LMFAO) yet another opportunity. Hackett has become one of the league’s most puzzling rehiring stories, largely because his recent track record doesn’t align with the confidence teams continue to place in him.
His tenure as head coach in Denver was widely viewed as one of the biggest disappointments of all time. The offense struggled with consistency, game management issues repeatedly made headlines, and the team never found its rhythm under his leadership. He didn’t last one full year. You have to be super-special to get fired before a full season is up. (See Urban Meyer’s creepy behavior with the Jags recently). Even after returning to a coordinator role, Hackett’s units have often underperformed relative to expectations, leaving fans and analysts wondering what front offices continue to see in him.
That’s what makes his latest hiring so surprising. In a league driven by results, Hackett has repeatedly been given opportunities that many believe could have gone to emerging coordinators or innovative assistants waiting for their first big break.
The move has sparked renewed debate about how certain coaches continue to cycle through jobs despite limited success, while others never get the same chance.
Whether this new chapter becomes redemption or another chapter of underwhelming offensive production remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Hackett’s ability to land another role has once again shocked a large segment of the football world.
NEWS Draymond Green: “Please Shut Up”
At this point, it isn’t even news. But…Draymond Green was at again recently in a loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Green got into an argument with referee J.T. Orr (who is white) in the first half, resulting in a technical foul.
This is the norm for the abrasive Michigan native, most NBA fans, with eyes, would say. However, his postgame comments completely overshadowed his actions on the court and an otherwise strong performance (especially for him this year)… of 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field.
Draymond complained:
"I find it very ironic that I got a technical foul for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face. As a Black man in America, don't put your hand in my face," Green told the media.
WOW!!! - can you give it a rest Draymond? You are a man with hundreds of millions of dollars in your bank account, you drive the most expensive cars, eat the most expensive food, are the biggest asshole, etc, etc. And…you are still complaining about a referee reacting to your idiocy on the court. Please put that “card“ down and go back to playing basketball. You’re a hard guy to root for; that is why pretty much nobody but those close to you and the tech dorks in the front row at Golden State games do. Per the future, it will be interesting to see how much GSW wants to put up with his bullshit. 5 years ago, they considered it worth it. Now, with a dwindling skill-set, and them losing constantly, he probably wont be in Golden State much longer. The problem: who else wants him?
